There has been a long lead up to this trip. It started over a year ago when I was still working at MEC, perusing Yvon Chouinard's book "Let my people surf". I started to get interested in the conservation of the Patagonia mountain range and hearing experiences of others who have travelled to Argentina, it sounded like a fun place to try. For me, this trip is about adventure and discovery. After a long school career and a few jobs, I haven't quite figured out my path just yet and I'm hoping that some international travel, new culture, new language, and general eye-opening experiences might give me some perspective on what I'm searching for.
Inspired by my friend Dee to, among many things, start this travel blog, I'm hoping to use it to keep in touch with everyone and to let you in on my adventures so you can essentially travel with me. I warn you though, I'm new to blogging so please be patient with me- it's only going to get better!
What's my plan while I'm Argentina, you ask? Well, the honest answer is, I don't know. I've consciously decided to do my best to not plan. And, for those who know me as the organized and perpetual planner, this will be a learning experience in itself! I arrive in Buenos Aires on Feb. 7th. I've booked a room in a hostel for this first weekend and then I hope to head to El Bolson to volunteer on an organic farm. And that's about as far as I've made it. I'd like to spend the majority of my time in Patagonia, but I hear there's some fine wine and sights to be seen in the North too. So, who knows...I guess I'll figure it out as I go along.
So, stay tuned. This will definitely be an entertaining adventure.
